Summary: Do you feel like you are stuck in feeling like you have to be perfect? In this blog I talk about how to combat that and give yourself permission to be okay with not expecting perfection from yourself. I also give reflecting questions on how to set better habits and a routine for yourself.

In life it is really easy to hold yourself to the unrealistic expectation of perfection. That expectation will in the long run hold you back from success. What I mean by that is let's say you have had a goal of wanting to work out, but you haven't because in your head you're scared that if you miss a day you aren’t fulfilling your goal. The truth is however that you would be better off working out 1o minutes a week than not working out 10 minutes a week because overtime that 10 minutes would make a difference. Probably not a significant difference but you would be putting in time and working towards your goal. I am guilty of this… For a while I was holding myself back from reaching my full potential with coaching because I wanted everything to be perfect. Then one day I realized that it is a learning journey for me too and it’s better to put information out to help people then not put anything out at all. So… that’s what I have been doing. Today I want you to give yourself a little bit of grace. It’s okay to sometimes just jump in and be okay with things not being perfect. After all there is no one who is perfect. So my first piece of advice is to follow this thing I call “1 tiny rule” this rule is to stay persistent as long as you keep trying and are persistent you will eventually find success. This means having a game plan to move forward. The next big thing to do to create action and success in your life is to create a routine. A routine will make it so that you will have time for everything that you need. Creating better habits and a routine will make it so you have time for the things that you want to do that you haven’t felt like you haven’t been able to do. Ask yourself “What bad habits am I holding onto that are keeping me from having a successful routine” “What unproductive things am I wasting my time doing?” I have an example of something that is a big one that has affected my life and that is phones. Phones are really easy to use as a distraction and they are addicting. It is really easy to hop on tiktok then look at the time and an hour has passed by and all the sudden you’re running late or now you don’t have time to accomplish that goal you’ve been wanting to do. I limit my time that I spend on my phone. For the first 30 minutes of the day and the last 30 minutes of the day I am not on my phone because that is when your brain is the most impressionable. My challenge to you is finding that one or few things that are holding you back or taking away from your positive habits and routine and minimizing the time that you do that so you can have more success in your life. The next thing is the cost of inaction. “What does it cost you to not set your goals?” “What does it cost you to keep having bad habits?” “What does it cost you to continue to not have a routine?” My guess is that if you don’t set goals, don’t have healthy habits, and don’t have a routine, you are going to be stuck wishing you had more in life. So ask yourself those questions and decide for yourself if it’s worth it to not have action. I know that you are capable of creating the life that you have always wanted. I believe in you!
