Slayer of Truth or Slave of Lies?

Summary: What does being a slayer of truth or a slayer of lies mean? I want you to think about a dragon and a dragon slayer. The dragon in fairy tales is typically made out to be a villain character. The Dragon slayer is the person who defeats the dragon and saves the village right? So what if you could put that analogy into your life? You tell yourself lies all the time. The lies that I am talking about are the negative thoughts you have about yourself that aren’t true. Those lies are the Dragon and you can choose to defeat your dragons and live a better life. In this blog I am going to take you on a step by step process on how to slay your dragons.

So let’s start off with figuring out what your dragons are. A good rule of thumb is any thought that isn’t serving you. If it's a negative thought like “I’m not good enough” that would be considered a dragon thought. There are also neutral thoughts like, “The sky is blue” that are not positive or negative. Then there are your positive thoughts that you can use as a weapon to defeat your dragons. Get out a piece of paper and write down your negative thoughts you have had about yourself today.

After you have written down your thoughts ask yourself why? The point of asking why is to find out the root of where these thoughts are coming from. Once you have found the source you can start using your positive thought weapon to counteract the negative.

When you have a negative dragon thought pop up. Tell yourself 2 positive things. Why do you need to say 2 positives? Because when you use 2 and not just 1 you are balancing the positive and negative then adding one more positive so instead of being at 0 you’re at 1.

This is a technique that I use in my everyday life. Yes I am educated in personal development and have worked hard on being a positive person. I am not perfect and my life isn’t perfect. What I have learned though my life experiences and hard times is that if I choose to have the glass half full mentality that life is a lot easier and I am able to have more gratitude in my life even through the hard times.

So my question for you today is, Are you going to choose to be a slayer of truth? or are you going to be a slave of lies and believe in the negative thoughts about yourself?

You learned some tools and have the opportunity today to start taking the first steps to transforming your life. The power is within and I believe in you.
