You Don't Have To Settle

Summary: I bet we have all been in a place in life where we felt there was more out there. I know throughout life I have felt that way. I thought I was stuck and didn’t know how to get out of the funk. However I knew that I didn’t want to stay there. In this blog I am giving you all the tools I learned that helped me move forward and get out of my funk.
The first step to changing where you’re at and not settling is to realize where you’re at, where you want to go, and how you’re going to fill in the gap of how to get there. Ask yourself what are the things in my life that I’m not satisfied with. Next ask yourself what you want in life. What are the goals you want to accomplish, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually? Once you know your goals it’s time to come up with a plan. How do you want to achieve those goals? If your goal for physical health is to move your body more, schedule time daily to get up and move. If your goal for mental health is taking time to meditate, make the time to achieve that. If your goal for emotional health is to be more open with others about what you’re going through and it feels intimidating, start small by writing in a journal if that’s something you don’t do. For financial health you could have a goal to have a retirement fund. Take the steps to create an account and fit it in your budget to start saving. Those are only a few examples and might not resonate with you but find the things in each of those areas that you are missing in your life and start bringing them in. Something I have a strong belief in is that God knows what everyone is capable of. We have a hard time understanding what we can do and we just settle out of fear or comfort but at the end of the day God knows what we can do. If you could look at yourself through God’s eyes, what would you change in your life? How would your perspectives about yourself change? They would probably be more loving, less judgmental and kind. The way that God talks to you would probably be a lot kinder than the way you talk to yourself. So see yourself through God’s eyes. Understand that God knows what you are capable of and the person holding you back the most is probably you. So you are aware of that now you have the choice to change your perspective of yourself. What do you choose?
You can choose to transform right now at this moment. It is important to stay present and find joy in life on a daily basis. You will be happier. A part of finding joy is having gratitude when you are grateful it helps you see things in a positive light.
