Summary: I am a firm believer that when you live a healthy lifestyle that your life will be better. I interviewed Nyk Villagomez who is a Natural Health and Wellness coach. We talked about his experience with using essential oils to help with health. Being healthy is a huge problem that we as a society face today. So how can you be healthier in your day to day life? I am going to share 3 things that I do everyday that have helped me in my life and break them down. They are: Sleep, nutrition, and getting my body moving.
Sleep is extremely important in health. While we sleep our brains store new information and get rid of toxic waste. Our Nerve cells communicate and reorganize, which supports healthy brain function, And The body repairs cells, restores energy, and releases molecules like hormones and proteins. So if you aren’t getting enough sleep your body isn’t able to regulate and do all of those things. Getting enough sleep can feel hard. A few things that help me that I know would help you is not being on your phone or any electronics 30 minutes before you go to bed and 30 minutes after you wake up. Starting your bedtime routine 30 minutes earlier then bumping that as early as you want to go to bed earlier.
Food is another huge thing. Most of our serotonin is created in the gut. So if you aren’t getting the nutrients your body needs you aren’t producing that chemical naturally. If you are giving your body the wrong kind of food that isn’t healthy, that is going to impact your health in a negative way. I am not a dietician. I don't have an education in nutrition. What works for me is eating all organic, no soda, only eating sugar on my date night and Saturdays and sundays. Living this lifestyle has helped me cut junk food out of a majority of my diet. I feel a lot better feeding my body this way.
The final thing that I do for my body that is also important for you is moving your body AKA working out. Now this doesn’t have to be crazy and high intensity. The intention is to move so whatever that means to you in your lifestyle that is what you need to do. Another thing that I do that Is so important and I have seen an improvement in my life is Cold showers. I don’t have a cold plunge yet so I take cold showers. I take a cold shower for 5 minutes every morning. I can say that I have noticed a difference in my immune system, energy level, and my mental health.
