Don't Let Today's Economy Get You Down w/ Jahden Nguyen and Braiden Belnap

Summary: This week I really have been reflecting on God in my life. I am so excited to share with you my reflections as well as help give you questions to ask if you are wanting a closer relationship to God.

I have always believed that there is a higher power out there, a higher being, or the universe. I didn’t think much about it, until recently. I have made a goal this year to go to a different church one week every month to see where I fit in. I have gone to a couple now actually and it’s only February. I am excited to find more about what I believe in.

Something I have learned through starting this journey is to ASK QUESTIONS. I believe to truly understand something you need to ask questions. I have begun praying more often and also reading the Bible daily. My wife is religious and knows a lot about different christian churches and the Bible. I have used her as a resource when I don’t understand something while I’m reading. She has been so helpful with helping me understand what is going on in the Bible and giving me more insight. We have started doing Bible study weekly. The reason that I have been able to get a deeper understanding of what I believe in is because I have been asking questions.

Another thing that I have started doing i s noticing God in the details. I truly believe that God is watching over all of us and is going to be there in times of need. I also believe that we are put into people’s lives to be earthly Angel’s. There was a time when me and my wife were out shopping later and when we were leaving there was a woman who was pulling a suitcase. We could visibly see that she was struggling. We actually drove past her a few times because My wife was scared to ask if she wanted help and was feeling out if she felt like we were supposed to help her. We both got confirmation in our guts that we were supposed to help her. She was trying to get to another city that is about 20 minutes away from where we were and was walking to the trax station. We asked if we could take her there and reluctantly she said yes. When she was in the car she asked if we could take her to the gas station so she could buy herself some dinner and cigarettes. She also mentioned that she didn’t have a place to stay that night. While she was in the gas station we talked about paying for a night so she could stay in a hotel room and we would drive her there. She got back in and we asked how she felt about us driving her to a hotel near her work in the other city and paying for a night so she didn’t have to sleep outside. She told us we didn’t have to and us taking her to the trax station and the gas station was enough. We both said that we would love to help her out and she was full of appreciation. That was a grand gesture of us doing something kind for someone but looking back God was in the details. We were out later than we normally would be and we were able to help someone in need and hopefully make a difference in her life. I have also had times where I have needed help and out of nowhere someone was there to help me. So if you want to get closer and notice God more in your life, find him in the small details.

Finding God and seeing him is a Lifelong journey that never ends so never get down on yourself if you feel you are lacking. God is always there with open arms and is there for you. My advice to help get closer to God is Read, Pray, and Notice Him in your life.
